LAUNCH – Basic Missionary Training

When: Monday evenings beginning Sept. 23 and ending Nov. 18 (No sessions on Thanksgiving or Remembrance Day)

Where: Catholic Pastoral Centre, Library, 123 Nelson Road, Saskatoon

Who: All the baptized, called to share their faith with others

Cost: $20

Register: Call Marilyn Jackson at 306-659-5836 or email mjackson@rcdos.ca

Deadline: Registration deadline is Sept. 16.

LAUNCH is a journey developed by Catholic Christian Outreach to gain attitudes, skills and knowledge over 7 weeks, that will help launch or sharpen our evangelization efforts. This training is open to everyone!

FOCUS:

  • The Church’s teaching about our calling and identity as Catholic disciples of Christ
  • The art of Intentional Accompaniment
  • How to use the Ultimate Relationship (a tool for sharing Jesus) to proclaim the Gospel
  • Learning to write and use our own story as an evangelization tool
  • Learning to identify thresholds
  • Creating a culture of sharing faith

HIGHLIGHTS:

Launch provides very practical evangelization tools and a safe environment in which to practice newly acquired skills.

Launch includes an ongoing follow-up plan, encouraging the larger group to form smaller core mission communities who will meet regularly to pray and support each other.

Launch will be presented by CCO Parish Missionary, Christy Dupuis.

While attending university, Christy Dupuis had a powerful encounter with Jesus and fell in love with her Catholic faith. After completing a B.A. in English, she went on to serve as a lay missionary with Catholic Christian Outreach. While serving as a missionary, Christy began speaking at conferences and retreats and leading workshops on a variety of topics. Her passion for evangelization and communicating the Gospel continues to drive her service to the Church.

Christy is married to Daniel and is the mother of four young children who challenge and inspire her. Believing that the parish is instrumental in evangelization efforts, Christy serves as a member of the pastoral team at her local parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary in Martensville, SK, where she co-labours with her pastor and others to form disciples and provide opportunities for all to encounter Jesus. Christy has also rejoined CCO to serve, once again, as a lay missionary: this time, as a Parish Missionary and consultant, helping to equip and train leaders to be evangelists in their parish communities.
